If you have a computer problem that you just can't solve and the instruction manual (assuming you can find it) isn't any help, take heart. If you're having a problem, chances are others (probably LOTS of others) have had the same problem.

Go to your Google (or other search engine of your choice) search bar and, in as many specific words as possible type in your problem. Be sure to include the exact make and model of the computer or printer that is causing you the problem.

Explore the search results and see if any seem to be a good match for your problem. Click on individual links to see if any solutions are being offered. It's not unusual to discover multiple websites that have questions and answers dealing with your computer problem.

If none of the results seems to be a good match, repeat the search making your wording broader and less specific. Again, explore the results to see if anything is a possible solution to your problem.

Do u get irritated when acrobat reader takes 5/10 seconds to load when you want to open a pdf document. There is a way to speed up the loading.

Step1
Go to the installation folder of acrobat reader
(C:\program files\adobe\acrobat\reader\....) or similar

Step2
Make sure that acrobat reader is not open else it will lock the files and not allow you to move the files).

Step3
Move all the files and folders from the "plugins" directory to the "Optional" directory. (I repeat.. cut and paste the files NOT copy & paste).

Step4
Now your acrobat reader will load very fast and almost as good as notepad

Step5
please add me as a friend

Step1

Click "Start" and then select "Computer" in Windows Vista. From there find the file you want to password protect or encrypt and right click on it to open "Properties." On the "General" tab choose the "Advanced" button and pick "Encrypt Contents to Secure Data Option," and then select "OK."

Step2

Select "Start," and then click on "All Programs" in Windows XP, and from there click "Accessories" and "Windows Explorer." Find the file you have chosen to encrypt and select "Properties," and then from the "General" tab, choose "Advanced" to find "Compress of Encrypt Attributes." From there choose, "Encrypt Contents to Secure Data," click on the box to put a check in it and then select "OK." If the file is in an unencrypted folder then a warning box will appear, because the program wants to know whether you are encrypting just the file or the whole folder. Choose the option you want and click "OK."

Step3

Choose the Apple Menu in Mac and then "System Preferences," and then "Security." Select "Set Master Password," and enter a password and verify it in the "Verify" box, and then click "OK." Select "Turn on FileVault" and read the message about deleting your files. If you want to prevent anyone from reading deleted files then click "Use Secure Erase," and then click "Turn on FileVault" again or click "Cancel" to finish.

Step4

You can either select a "Password to Open" your file or "Password to Modify" your file here. For newer versions of Microsoft Word click the "Home" button and from the dialog box there, select the "Prepare" button and then "Encrypt Document" to set your password to protect all of your Microsoft Word documents.

Step5

Click on "File" and then "Save As" in Excel to password protect your files. From there select "Tools," and then click on "General Options." Choose "Password to Open" or if you want a higher level of encryption for your file can select, "Advanced." There is also the option to select "Password to Modify" just like there was in Step One.

Step6

Download a program that password protects files or folders on your computer. Most of these programs are easy for beginners to learn to use and some even have the option of protecting your files or folders when your computer is in "Safe Mode."

If you’re sick of having to click a button or enter a password every time Windows XP boots up, there’s a quick and easy way to eliminate this step. It involves editing the Windows registry, though, so you must be careful to follow these directions exactly.

Step1
Click the Start button and select Run. Type “regedit” in the field and click OK.

Step2
Browse to the registry key titled “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon.”

Step3
Double click DefaultUserName and enter your account name. Click OK. Then double click DefaultPassword, enter your current password and click OK. If DefaultPassword does not appear, create the value by clicking the Edit menu, selecting New and then selecting String Value. Name the value as DefaultPassword. Once it’s created, double click Default Password and enter your chosen password.

Step4
Double click AutoAdminLogon and enter “1” in the Value Data box. Click OK. If AutoAdminLogon does not appear, create it using the same method in the step above and set the value as 1.

Step5
Close the Registry Editor and reboot your computer. You should log into Windows automatically.

Step1

First note that if your computer has a newer Intel based motherboard, the feature that allows you to do this may be disabled. Also I’ve heard this doesn’t work at all in Vista. The reason behind both of these is because the RIAA complained and convinced them that too many people were stealing music be re-recording internet radio. I think if you have a separate PCI sound card instead of just an onboard one, this will work for everyone with XP regardless of their motherboard though.

Step2

To set this up, you need to double click on the system volume icon in the lower right hand corner in the system tray. It's the little speaker shaped icon that you use to adjust the volume. Some common XP glitches can make that disappear so you can also get to it by clicking on sounds and Audio Devices on the control panel then clicking Advanced under device volume.

Step3

Recording Properties Either way, the extended volume control should open up. On the Options menu, click properties. Then change the selection to Recording and make sure that there is a checkbox next to "Stereo Mix." Usually there isn't a check there by default. Your menu should look very similar to the one in the attached screenshot. If you don't have an option for Stereo Mix, sorry, your system is one of the ones with that features disabled.

Step4

setting stereo mix Now that Stereo Mix is checked, press OK. This will replace the normal extended volume controls with the extended recording controls. Under each audio channel, there's a checkbox that says Select. What that does is sets the default recording device. By default, most computers will have the select button under Microphone because that's the most common channel people use to record audio. What you need to do is change the Stereo Mix channel to be the selected one. You also need to turn the volume way down. Just below the 2nd tick mark seems good on my system. You need to do this because that channel is outputting at a very high power but the system is expecting to receive recordings at a very low level. See the attached screenshot for an example of how it should look.

Step5

Assuming you don't have any other audio recording programs, you can open the Sound Recorder program that comes with Windows. You'll find it under Accessories > Entertainment. As soon as any sound is coming out of the speakers, press record and that's what will be recorded no matter what it is. Music, voices, game sound effects, anything!

Step6

Of course, sound recorder sucks so you'll probably want to get something better. I'd recommend Wavepad. It's a free program that offers way more functionality. You can graphically cut parts of sounds out and balance and EQ it and normalize and amplify it and all sorts of fun stuff. Plus you can save your files as MP3s. Wavepad has a tendency to reset the default recording channel as soon as the program open though but once you press record and it brings up the record options, you can choose which channel to record from then. Actually then you could skip every step except turning the volume down on the Stereo Mix channel.

Step7

So no matter what program you use, that's how you do it. If you play a digital rights management copy protected song, you can re-record it at full quality with no copy protection using this method. You can also record audio chats in IM programs but you have to mute your voice from within the IM program because as soon as you change from the mic to the stereo mixer, it will send that feed through the chat and basically bounce back everything they say which quickly creates a feedback loop. This re-recording can also work to quickly snag audio clips from DVDs while they're playing.

How to Direct Connect Two Computers

Posted by BooksTube | 4:56 PM

Step1
Connect the USB cable to the proper port on each computer. Click on "Start" in the lower left-hand corner of the desktop screen. Then choose "Control Panel," "Network and Internet Connections" and "Network Connections."

Step2
When logged in as "administrator" or a user that is a member of the "administrators" group, full access to all of the devices that are installed and enabled on the computer will show up in a list when creating a new connection. If one is not logged in as an administrator or member of the administrators group, COM ports for direct connections will not be available. COM ports must be configured with a null modem for use with a direct connection, and this must be done by a user with administrative privileges. To configure a device to be used with a null modem, use the Phone and Modem icon found in Control Panel.

Step3
Select "Create a new connection" on the left side of the menu. Click "Next."

Step4
Choose "Set up an advanced connection." Click "Next" again.

Step5
Pick "Connect directly to another computer." Click on "Next" a third time.

Step6
Follow the instructions in the New Connection Wizard.

Use Notepad For Lots Of Fun

Posted by BooksTube | 4:53 PM

Step1
1> Open Notepad
2> Enter four words separated by spaces, wherein the first word has 4 letters, the next two have three letters, and the last word has five letters
3> DON'T hit enter at the end of the line.
4> Save the file with any name (love, dinu, notes, etc).
5> Close Notepad.
6> Reopen Notepad.
7> Open the file you just saved.

YOU WILL NOTICE SOME BOXES INSTEAD OF THE SENTENCE WHICH YOU TYPED.

WHY ?

The reason is : In notepad, any other 4-3-3-5 letter word combo will have the same results.
It is all to do with a limitation in Windows. Text files containing Unicode UTF-16-encoded Unicode are supposed to start with a "Byte-Order Mark" (BOM), which is a two-byte flag that tells a reader how the following UTF-16 data is encoded.

Step2
WORLD TRADE CENTRE 9/11 TRICK.

Did you know that the flight number of the plane that had hit WTC ...on
9/11 was Q33N ..

Open your Notepad in ur computer and type the flight number i.e Q33N Increase the Font Size to 72, Change the Font to Wingdings (click once to select the word and at the top click format to change the font and type of font). U will be amazed by the findings.

American Airlines Flight 11 (Boeing 767-223) and United Airlines Flight 175 (Boeing 767-222) crashed into the WTC.
The crashing or destruction of WTC is not the reason to post here. It's the font Windings in Windows for those specific letters Q 3 3 N.

anyways try with other letters also. this windings font is interesting.

Step3
Log trick !! make ur Notepad a diary !!

Sometimes we want to insert current data and time, whenever we open the file in the notepad. If you are a lazy person like me, who don’t like to press F5 whenever you open a notepad. Then here is a trick to avoid this. Just add a .LOG in the first line of your text file and close it.
Whenever you open the file with that text in the first line in the notepad, it will insert the current date and time at the end of the file. You can start entering your text after that.

How to Make Firefox Faster

Posted by BooksTube | 11:19 AM

Step1
Have Firefox up and running.

Step2
Type “about:config” into the address bar and hit return. Scroll down and look for the following entries:

network.http.pipelining network.http.proxy.pipelining network.http.pipelining.maxrequests

Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time. When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really speeds up page loading.

Step3
Alter the entries as follows:

Set “network.http.pipelining” to “true”

Set “network.http.proxy.pipelining” to “true”

Set “network.http.pipelining.maxrequests” to some number like 30. This means it will make 30 requests at once.

Step4
Right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it “nglayout.initialpaint.delay” and set its value to “0″. This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it receives.

Step5
If you're using a broadband connection you'll load pages MUCH faster now!

Step1
Unplug the computer. Remove the monitor and other peripherals from the computer. Open the computer's cover.

Step2
Look for a jumper labeled "PWD" or something similar, near the CMOS battery on the motherboard. If you can't find it, consult the manual for your motherboard to find out where this jumper is located. Remove the jumper, which is a little plastic sheath covering some of the pins. This disables the password.

Step3
Remove the CMOS battery. The CMOS battery is a round battery that looks like a watch battery. Release the battery, keep it out of the computer for a few seconds, then put it back. The removal of the battery resets the BIOS and clear the password.

Step4
Use a backdoor password or a keyboard command. Most BIOS manufacturers have standard passwords that can be used to bypass the BIOS password. Search the Internet to find a list of passwords. You need to know what your BIOS is. Hold the left shift key down during the boot process to bypass the BIOS password on most Toshiba systems.

Step5
Browse the web for third party password hacking tools, if none of the other methods works.

Step6
Take the hard drive out of the computer. Once the hard drive is out of the password protected computer, you can access the information on it. Place the drive as a secondary drive in another computer to copy information from it.
